Hello! Welcome to your monthly round up of Seeing Red news, insights, competitions and information! |
October has flown by!It has been so nice to get back into working together properly - we are now five episodes into Season 14, and it's been quite a variety of cases; murderous revenge after years, a rapist on a terrifying spree, the unsolved murder of a young lad, an accident in the skies that ended with deadly consequences and a story of domestic abuse. |
Possibly the most exciting news in Seeing Red HQ this month is the fact that Mark was interviewed on camera for a TV SHOW!
He said it was an incredible, and also surreal experience, and he's going to do a blog post soon all about it. He'll also tell us more on the show too, and of course we will let everyone kow when the show is going to be out and where to watch him in it!
For now, here are some fun behind-the-scenes photos of his house getting prepped for filming! |

In October our Patreon book club got together to discuss the heartbreakingly raw and honest account of a family's grief in the most awful time. We all felt this book was well-written (in fact a few of us said we were surprised Gemma isn't an author in her own right!) and it opened our eyes to a number of elements of the case. The police's handling of the case and the suspicions on Milly & Gemma's father was very upsetting to read about, but our overriding feeling was just how wonderful Milly sounded. |

October saw me enjoy my first Crime Freaks Book Box - a fun way to read whilst opening gifts along the way through the book... So much fun! If you would like my code and link to get a box, please do reply to this email and I can pop it over to you.
I also won a competition this month and got signed copies of four of C J Grayson's books, an author I didn't know before but now am a fan of... his debut "The Tees Valley Kilings" is 99p on kindle if you would like to give him a try! Dark, graphic, and full of twists and turns- what's not to love! and for a debut I was very impressed!
October also brought quite a few fun things for me and my family, we had Harvest celebrations at school, Evie had her first school assembly which we could attend, and there was Halloween. I'm not a huge fan, but the girls enjoyed dressing up to go round trick-or-treat-ing and our local area had a number of homes handing out sweeties.
I've not managed to watch much telly this month but one thing I've been trying hard to make time for has been The Celebrity Traitors... I'm absolutely loving it and can't wait til next week and the finale! We have had some great True Crime recommendations over on our Seeing Red Facebook page, as well as fiction people have enjoyed watching this month too. |
October's Book Recommendation This month it's time for one of my favourite annual traditions! Alex Pine releases a "festive" murder late each October, and it always gets me in the mood for winter & Christmas! I love joining DI James and the crew in Kirkby Abbey where there's always bloodshed to ruin his family festivities, and I'm about halfway through Cold Blooded Killer already! This is book 6, so there is plenty to go back through if you haven't read any of the books in this series before... you may recognise the author though: Alex Pine is the pseudonym of a bestselling author who also writes under the names Jaime Raven, James Raven and JP Carter. |
